Well, it is not so realistic to visit an aquarium often, but there are a few ways to bring in an aquarium into your own home. I have a few examples where you will see large built-in’s that look amazing but are not easy to manage and the self-cleaning Aquafarm Fish Tank from Uncommon Goods. I received this complementary fish tank to review and I’m loving it! I still haven’t decided where to place this — it is moving from my kitchen counter-top to my desk to my living room!

I would like to share a few pictures taken at my home. Aquafarm arrived intact in a nice box. The instructions were easy to follow and it came with everything except sunlight, water, seeds and goldfish! An interesting fact about this product is the waste from the fish automatically fertilizes the plants and plants in turn clean the water in the aquarium. I also like the fact that it is made in Union City, California. A gift that you might want to consider during this holiday season for someone special or for your child’s classroom.. Children will be intrigued. I have a picture below — Aquafarm demonstration at a school by it’s inventors Nikhil Arora and Alejandro Velez. Look forward to your thoughts! Check out Uncommon Goods for more amazing products..

I’m so glad I was invited to ColorStudio Collection Showroom at the San Fransisco Design Center. As soon as I walked in, I was blown away with their ColorStudio Collection display on the wall — a complete treat for my eyes! All their new colors are brilliant — I can only imagine how hard it will to be to select a color palette. To make this process easy, Kelly Moore offers complimentary tools such as their architectural color sample kit. This comes in a nice box with a leather handle and an album of colors separated by each color family. I’m loving these tools! They also provide larger samples like 3″ x 4″ and 8½” x 11″ cards, which makes color picking and elimination easy. …

I’m so glad I was invited to ColorStudio Collection Showroom at the San Fransisco Design Center. While I was there, I met with Terrie Ashton, Design Centers’ Showroom Manager, and we discussed the latest color trends and how new color palettes are born. I was told that all their 1700 new paint colors in this studio were inspired by the light, architecture, neighborhoods and lifestyles of the American West and falls within these five specialty palettes:

  • California Lifestyles Palette: This new palette of 140 harmonious colors represents classic California neighborhoods and the West. This is a natural living palette with a refined and rich sense of place.

  • First Impressions Off-White Palette: This palette, with 70 soft and subtle sheer whites, blends beautifully with other colors in the system. Inspired by the Western light, these colors are perfect for painters wanting to play it safe.

  • Accents Palette: This palette of 91 accent colors brings pop to any room. These deep, vibrant accent colors add excitement and infuse energy yet are safe and traditional and work well for both interiors and exteriors.

  • Historic Lifestyles of the West Palette: The Historic Lifestyles of the West palette (and brochure) features 106 historically accurate and modern regional color adaptations that bring an authentic flavor to both modern and historical homes designed in six Western architectural styles spanning 110 years: Victorian, English Revival, Spanish Revival, Arts & Crafts, Jazz Age and Retro.

  • Classic Colors Palette: This palette of 26 interior & exterior ready-mixed paint colors is the largest number of stock colors available of any paint company.

Additionally, Kelly-Moore has curated seven Inspired Living mini-palettes available in Inspired Living Cards featuring suggested color combinations throughout the home.

This design studio is also equipped with comfortable light for viewing color. They even offer their meeting rooms for designers to interact with their clients. I love all that this design center has to offer and I can’t wait to experience all this.. with my clients.. Drop by sometime! Here are a few snaps to give you an idea..
